At the Seguin-Guadalupe County Heritage Museum, thousands of years of history comes alive in the objects that are on the display. Since being formed in 1997, the museum's permanent collection has grown to tens of thousands of objects from prehistoric artifacts to ceramics, jewelry, textiles, utility items, photographs, and numerous installations.

The museum's extensive photography collection complements the artifacts in the permanent collection and is an important resource for geneaology and historical research for local residents.

The collections present a detailed overview of stylistic and iconographic trends beginning in the mid 19th century. Importantly, the collections also serve to preserve a unique visual record that reflects the cultural movements of the past while, at the same time, providing a rich framework for future growth.
