“Continuing a Christmas Tradition”: The Timmermann Collection Opens November 29, 2012- January 31, 2010
The Museum is very excited this year to introduce the recent acquisition of the Seven Timmermann Sister’s Christmas Collection. For years, many have enjoyed the delightful and beautiful Christmas displays that the Sisters fashioned each year. Some say they these displays even rivaled Macy’s Christmas Windows displays. In 2009, parts of the Christmas display was loaned to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin for an exhibit called, Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America Through Galveston Island. The Heritage Museum is proud to exhibit several of the objects that made Christmas special for many in the community, along with photos of how the Christmas Tree was a originally set up as well as stories and other memorabilia.
“Always Ready, Depend on Us”: The history of the Seguin Fire Department Opening September 3, 2012 to November 16, 2012
With items on loan from the Seguin Fire Department, the museum has been able to produce an exciting look at the proud heritage of the Department. Establishing its roots in 1877, the Fire Department has been able to save many objects that have been important to the founding of the Department. Come to the Museum to take a look at vintage photos, equipment and memorabilia and share the experience of the Fire Department’s heritage.
“Celebrating a 100 years of TLU” Opening July 26, 2012 to November 16, 2012
We have gathered a few of our objects from the collections to celebrate the 100 years that Texas Lutheran University has been in Seguin. Originally TLU was founded in 1891 in Brenham, Texas as an academy of the First German Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Texas. It moved to Seguin, Texas in 1912 and adopted the name, Texas Lutheran, in the early 1930s. The college was once again renamed to its present title of Texas Lutheran University in 1996. The Museum is hosting an exhibit from the Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin promoting their Conjunto Festival. The exhibit includes photos of past events and info about their upcoming events.

Exhibit is on loan to American Bank of Texas
This small exhibit showcases photos and a few objects to celebrate the Hispanic heritage in Seguin. American Bank of Texas is located at 200 North Austin St. Seguin, Texas.
